SICK S3000 Ordering Guide
1) Choose Scanner Head
Scan Heads are available in Short Range (4 meter), Medium Range (5.5 meter), or Long Range (7 meter) protective field ranges. I/O Modules are available as Standard, Advanced, Professional or Remote variations.

2) Choose System Plug/ Cabling
The system plug contains the configuration memory and is required for electrical connections. Choose between "with" or "without" the Power-I/O cable being pre-wired. The System Plug for Standard, Advanced, Professional and Remote S3000 systems has one M20 cable gland for the Power-I/O cable, plus M20 and M12 blanking plugs. In addition, two M12 EMC-compliant cable glands are shipped loose with the Professional System Plug. Static cabling is for applications not requiring encoder hook-up. Dynamic cabling is for use with encoders.

3) If two S3000's are to be connected (i.e. Professional and Remote), choose M12 glands & EFI cable.
Two M12 EMC-compliant cable glands are required for each cable, one at each end and threaded into the System Plug. The Professional System Plug comes with two M12 EMC glands packaged loose for this use. The System Plug for the Standard, Advanced, and Remote, however, does not ship with M12 EMC glands. The EFI cable is special high speed communication cable to facilitate communication between two S3000's or one S3000 and UE440.

4) Choose Mounting Brackets for flexible mounting
- Kit 1 attaches to sides of S3000 for solid mount at rear of S3000 on wall or machine.
- Kit 2 mounts to and is used in conjunction with Kit One for longitudinal and cross-wise adjustment.
- Kit 3 mounts to Kit 2 (which mounts to Kit 1) for mounting at rear of S3000 on wall or machine or below S3000 on floor.
- Kit 123 includes Kit 1, 2 & 3.

5) Choose Programming Cable
Programming cable facilitates communication between S3000 and PC. This is the same cable that is used to configure C4000's.

6) Choose a Safety Interface
In order to maintain the Category 3 safety rating of the S3000, safety rated relays, a safety bus, or a safety rated PLC must be used to interface the S3000 OSSD outputs. The UE 10-3OS safety relay ensures safety rating and provides 3NO/ 1NC contacts. The UE 10-3OS safety relay also has NC contacts that can be used with the S3000 EDM function to maintain circuit control reliability.

7) Choose a Power Supply, if needed
Maximum power for each S3000 requires 2.3 Amps at 24VDC including both OSSD's and auxiliary outputs at full load.
