SICK WFL Fork Sensor - for the detection of small parts

Image

WFL

The new WFL Fork Sensors from SICK utilize Class I, low-power lasers to ensure the smallest light size, ideal for high-precision applications. In addition to detecting small parts, the WFL has a fast switching frequency that enables reliable performance in high-speed applications.

These sensors, which function as two-unit through-beam systems, combine a sender and receiver in a single housing. The distance between the sender and receiver is determined by the shape of the housing and is referred to as the fork width.

The emitted light, in the form of a precisely concentrated beam, and the high detection accuracy mean that even minute differences in light attenuation can be detected.

Mitsubishi launches the A701 Series inverter.

A701

Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. is pleased to announce the North and South American release of the next generation inverter with built-in line regeneration, the A701 Series. This new series is the replacement for the venerable A201E Series.

The A701 offers most of the features and function found in the standard A700 Series but includes built-in line regeneration that allows 100% continuous braking torque. The A701 is ideal for applications with overhauling loads or rapid start/stop cycles such as escalators, lifts & hoists and centrifuges.

Other opportunities are simply customers who want to remove the problems associated with brake resistors and the heat they produce or to simplify wiring and reduce required panel space. By taking the regenerative energy from the motor and returning it to the AC line instead of transforming it into heat through a resistor, increased energy savings and improved return on investment are assured.
